Centrally located in Cambridge, convenient to Dorchester County Visitors Center and Choptank River Lighthouse.
The lighthouse houses a museum and is built in the “screwpile” style characteristic of the Chesapeake Bay. From this location, view the Choptank River, which was used as an escape route for several freedom seekers on the Underground Railroad. Others who assisted them were captured and transported on this river to the Dorchester County Courthouse and Jail. A National Park Service Network to Freedom site.
