Ballet Embody is Maryland’s premiere contemporary ballet company located in Carroll County. Co-founded in 2019 by Emily Runkle and Melissa Lineburg, Ballet Embody produces original classical and contemporary works.

Access to Carr’s Beach is across the street from the Annapolis Maritime Museum - Park Campus at 7300 Edgewood Road, Annapolis. Park at the museum and look for the crosswalk at Edgewood and Bembe Beach Road. Cross the street and walk the path towards the gate. When at the gate, veer right to read the interpretive signs that lead you to the beach.

Located in historic Tudor Hall, we collect, research, and interpret the history of the people, places and events in St. Mary’s County, MD. Our Research Center and quarterly journal. The Chronicles of St. Mary's are available to the public and members.

Jim Wims, a farmer, took acreage out of production for African-American children to have a ball field, which became known as Wims Meadow. Jim’s son Wilson worked to create the Clarksburg Recreation Center, bettering opportunities for his community.
