Built in 1875 by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O)–the charming Victorian station is on the National Register of Historic Places. Today it is used by MARC passenger trains.
The museum includes a restored Diamond-T 1941 pumper, as well as helmets, uniforms, badges, department logs, radios and other items dating back to 1920s.

The statue of Douglass on the courthouse lawn, created by Jay Hall Carpenter and erected in 2011, portrays Douglass at the podium delivering this speech.
