GREAT CHESAPEAKE INVASIVES COUNT

The Coastal Conservation Association Maryland (CCA Maryland) stands at the forefront of marine conservation, committed to advocating, conserving, educating, and fostering strategic partnerships for the sustainable use of Maryland's marine resources. To support Maryland Fisheries, CCA Maryland presents a research-backed tournament in collaboration with Yamaha Rightwaters. This engaging tournament, free to enter, spans from April 1, 2024, to March 30, 2025. Anglers have the opportunity to compete for enticing monthly prizes and can conveniently log their catches using a mobile app. Through this innovative approach, participants can input details such as total length, weight, and even stomach contents, contributing valuable data for marine research. REEL REWARDS PROGRAM

The Environmental Justice Journalism Initiative (EJJI), a Baltimore-based nonprofit, recently introduced the Reel Rewards program. The initiative focuses on addressing the threat posed by invasive fish species to the Baltimore Harbor ecosystem, economy, and native species. Participants not only contribute to the scientific understanding of invasive species populations but also earn $30 for each head.
