Located on the shores of Chesapeake Bay, Sandy Point State Park provides fly fishers and their family and friends a great destination for fly fishing and a lot more. There plenty of sandy shoreline available for wading and fly fishing and the option to walk out along the stone pier to fish in deeper waters. With a boat and excellent launch facilities available, fly fishers can fish for striped bass, white perch, bluefish, white perch, flounder, catfish, spot and croaker depending on the time of year and the stage of the tide.

Within a short boat ride from this Trail site, one can fish up along the Bay shoreline towards the Magothy River or immediately head south to Whitehall Bay or up into the Severn River or right out to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. With more time, the Eastern Shore can be a fly fishing destination, up in the Chester River, along Kent Island or down into Eastern Bay and beyond.
