Where to Fish In the Region

McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management AreaMap

Located on River Road near Poolesville in Montgomery County, McKee-Beshers WMA is a 1,971-acre tract in a mixture of habitat types. The WMA shares a common boundary with the National Park Service Chesapeake and Ohio Canal (C&O Canal) to the south and borders Seneca Creek State Park’s River Road Hunting Area to the east.​ This location is loaded with flathead catfish!

 

 

 

Piscataway Creek

Piscataway Creek runs through southeast Prince George's County near Clinton, above Livingston Rd, (a Freshwater Fishing License is required); largemouth bass, striped bass, chain pickerel, crappie, channel catfish, yellow and white perch, bluegill sunfish and carp are found in tributaries and in the Potomac River.

Potomac River 

At 450-miles long, the Potomac River offers a wide variety of fishing opportunities for any angler. The northern Potomac River fishery consists of species such as muskie, walleye and trout. The southern Potomac River and more brackish points are popular for both blue catfish and northern snakehead
