Canton Waterfront Park in Baltimore City provides a truly unique urban fly fishing experience. You can launch your boat using one of the two concrete ramps, providing you access to fly fishing for striped bass, white perch, largemouth bass, sunfish, crappie, yellow perch and catfish in the tidal waters of the Patapsco River-and its many side branching tidal creeks flow into the Chesapeake Bay. In addition to the boat ramp, this site has a fishing pier, public bathrooms, benches, picnic area and connections to multi-use trails. This picturesque waterfront park is home to the Korean War Memorial and provides views of Fort McHenry.

A handicap accessible fishing pier is available with a wheelchair accessible parking lot and entrance to the park.

How to Get There

From I-95, take exit 57 toward Boston Street, bear left at the fork, take a left to turn onto Boston Street. At the intersection of Boston Street and S. East Avenue, take a left turn to the access site.

Parking & Launching

Parking is located adjacent to the boat launch ramp on a paved lot. Use the Canton Waterfront Park two concrete boat launch ramps to launch your boat.

Where to Fish

You can fish from the pier, the shoreline or from a boat. Cast toward points of land, pilings and other structures where there is nearby access to deeper water.

What to Fish & How

Recommend bringing 7-9 weight fly rods with floating, intermediate and sinking fly lines. Your fly selection should include a variety of baitfish patterns including Clouser minnows and Lefty's Deceivers.
